The lobby represents the base of the tree, where the roots bring in people from outside. The reception desk is at ADA height 30”. Bringing in natural colors and materials ties in the concept of the tree. A skylight down the hall brings in plenty of natural light.
The flexible use room was a room used for exercise. Here we have the rubber flooring to help absorb sounds. All lighting is dimmable to accommodate the needs of the users.
The outdoor area has multiple uses. There is plenty of seating for leisure. There are raised garden beds located outside the kitchen door. They are accessible for those in wheelchairs. The adults can use the vegetables they grow to cook in the kitchen. There are also low to the ground bean bags for meditation.
